Freeman Gallery - Melbourne Pied-á-Terre
As Freeman & Co’s presence continues to grow across Australia, the demand from our Melbourne clientele called for something more than a traditional showroom. It called for an experience.
Conceived as both a private pied-á-terre and a living gallery, this Melbourne residence has been designed as an immersive expression of the Freeman & Co lifestyle. A place where clients can experience the quality, craftsmanship and atmosphere that define our work.
The apartment embodies a refined material palette of natural stone, pale oak, textured textiles and softly layered neutrals. Honed marble surfaces meet warm timber joinery, while sheer drapery filters Melbourne’s changing light throughout the day. Exposed concrete ceilings provide an architectural counterpoint to the softness below, creating a balance between contemporary restraint and understated luxury.
Art and collectible design are woven throughout the interiors. Sculptural forms punctuate each room, from monolithic totems and hand-crafted vessels to reflective metallic wall works and carefully curated photography. Rather than functioning as decoration, each piece contributes to a broader conversation about living with art and creating spaces that feel both deeply personal and internationally relevant.
The residence has been furnished as a home first and foremost. Bedrooms are conceived as quiet sanctuaries, while generous living and dining spaces encourage conversation, entertaining and contemplation. Every finish, furnishing and object has been selected to demonstrate the level of detail and consideration that underpins Freeman & Co projects globally.
More than a showroom, the Melbourne Pied-à-Terre serves as a destination for private consultations, design presentations and client gatherings. It offers Melbourne clients the opportunity to engage directly with the Freeman & Co world—an environment where architecture, interiors, art and lifestyle converge.
As we continue to expand our presence beyond Sydney, the apartment represents an important milestone for the studio: a permanent home in Melbourne and a tangible expression of our belief that exceptional design is ultimately about the art of living.
