The art of fine haute couture is a tradition born out of a dedication to craft and beauty passed down through generations. The interior design of this private residence within an exclusive harbourside enclave of Vaucluse Sydney is much the same. Timelessly beautiful interiors that stand the testament of time see a meticulous yet restrained use of tones with a fine embellishing of stone selections, harmonious beauty complemented with exotic metallics, rock crystal, bashed 24 carat gold leaf, smashed glass, velvets and silks.
Subtle and elegant alike a bespoke piece of haute couture, the interiors are refined yet reference an era of true luxury and glamour. Meticulously curated with the finest details considered bespoke crystal chandeliers, one of a kind art pieces such as a one of a kind Fredrikson Stallard acrylic and steel coffee table. Offering an emotional narrative on the process, conceptualisation and manufacture of the piece, the concept of gravity is re-imagined through an emotional and physical process of creation and destruction, alongside the controlled technology that ultimately enables its creation.‘Gravity’ is collection of work which sits on the edge between two worlds; pivoting between two states of play. Archaic forms are created but always under strict control” states the artist duo in collaboration with FREEMAN & co.
A private Study features parquetry flooring, floor to ceiling rich black velvet curtains to house a collection of black and white Terry Oneil photographs creating a sense of intimacy and grandeur, framing the space with dramatic contrast. Overhead, a hand-painted black lacquer ceiling adds a further layer of bespoke artistry, while a marble-detailed archway serves as a sculptural focal point, reinforcing the home’s refined history.
In contrast, the bespoke kitchen is defined by sleek chromatic embellishment creating a liveable artform. Whilst a functional area, the interior is designed for the most glamorous of soirees making each day resemble an old hollywood mantra matched by an impressive La Cornue cooker.
The owners suite and rooms beyond were designed to be calming sanctuaries of lightness softened by beautiful yet soft textures resembling the finest hotel suite with every luxury imaginable.
