KING PENTHOUSE
SYDNEY CBD, AUSTRALIA
Perched 83 floors above Sydney’s skyline, sitting in the clouds with a front-row aspect to the city skyline and ocean beyond, the King Penthouse by FREEMAN & CO in collaboration with Cohen Freeman redefines luxury living with an uncompromising fusion of architecture, artistry, and contemporary refinement. A collaboration between FREEMAN & CO and The Rubinstein Group, this project marks the creation of Australia’s first brand-new, fully turnkey penthouse an unparalleled sanctuary where five-star hotel luxury meets the intimacy of a private home.
Offering breathtaking 360-degree views that extend from the city skyline to the ocean, The King Penthouse is a statement of refined grandeur, furnished with an enviable curation of furniture and limited-edition collectible design pieces, alongside a meticulously assembled selection of fine art and sculpture. Every element has been hand-selected for its rarity and craftsmanship, from cashmere rugs, silks bedding, and Baccarat crystalware to a 350-bottle Penfolds Grange wine cellar, no detail has been spared.
A restrained, minimalist aesthetic serves as the perfect canvas for the home's museum-quality private collection, carefully highlighting each piece while maintaining a seamless flow throughout featuring a solid bronze sculpture “I Take it down to the flow” 2019 by Australian artist Del Kathryn Barton and artist Scottish contemporary artist Jim Lambie’s esteemed lens works comprised of found sunglass lenses that are fused together using traditional artisanal techniques inspired by traditional stained glass windows. The result is a contemporary, rock’n’roll remix of the medium’s traditional techniques, using the ultimate symbol of cool. Viewers and their surroundings are reflected in each colourful lens, transforming the gallery and our perception into a vibrant, undulating landscape of colour, rhythm, movement, and groove. Creating an optical dance with the familiar, offering a reverberating new context for the objects, pushing the viewer into unexpected ways of seeing them and the surrounding gallery environment.
Custom architectural details, from precision-crafted venetian plaster in high gloss to the sculptural staircase, enhance the interplay between form and function, creating a feeling of living in the clouds.
